Avitech installs conference and audiovisual systems for the Encgobo Council chamber
The Engcobo Municipality are proud new owners of a Council Chamber with a uniquely African design theme. Seating about 65 councillors, the circular chamber has a mezzanine level public gallery, and can be used for Council meetings as well as audiovisual presentations.
Based on previous success with the BOSCH discussion systems, we had no hesitation in recommending the CCS800 for this project. The CCS800 discussion system provides a microphone and loudspeaker for each Councillor, and provides an audio output for recording the proceedings. BOSE 251 wide dispersion loudspeakers provide sound for the public gallery.
The audiovisual system is based on an IN-FOCUS LP-640 data projector, and two BOSE 402 loudspeakers on either side of the motorised screen. Simple volume and recorder remote controls at the Secretary's desk allow complete control over the system without her needing to leave her seat.
Behind the scenes is a RANE digital signal processor (DSP) which balances and distributes the audio signals to the conference system, the main loudspeakers and the speakers in the public gallery. The system concept worked very well, reinforcing our resolve to apply digital technology not just for technology's sake, but to make sophisticated systems better, and easier to own, operate and maintain.
