The Hemingways Hotel and Casino complex, adjacent to the N2 in East London, exudes the sub-tropical ambience of a relaxed, yet sophisticated island lifestyle. In addition to the regular gaming floor, open 24 hours a day, the Casino presents regular evening draws, and hosts a fortnightly morning of entertainment for their senior patrons.

The sound system in any casino needs to be absolutely reliable, easy to operate, yet flexible enough to cater for the variety of events that require sound and music. Many casino groups, including the Tsogo Sun group have realised the advantages that digital and IP based audio technology can bring to their operation, and are upgrading their sound systems, replacing racks of discrete mixers, equalisers and routers with programmable DSP's (Digital Signal Processors)

At Hemingways, a BIAMP Audia digital signal processor forms the heart of the revamped audio system head end, and provides equalization, music source selection, and volume control for the Casino's main areas. The Soundweb Processor is linked to the Casino's IT network, allowing control of the sound system from any authorised PC on the network. Music volume on the gaming floor can now be controlled by staff from a PC on the floor without having to constantly be running to the audiovisual equipment room. Adjusting the sound system for special events like draw evenings, which previously was a matter of trial and error, now only requires the click of a mouse to recall preset settings for wireless microphones, loudspeaker zones and volume levels.

Hemingways is the latest in many casino sound system upgrades and new installations undertaken by the Audiotech group, and the appointment confirms our status as the supplier of choice for digital audio system solutions.
