Beautiful to behold - and the sound is good!

Krugmann's Grill is one of the latest restaurants to open at Cape Town's bustling V & A Waterfront. Unashamedly dedicated to grilled meat cuts, oysters and champagne, the restaurant incorporates some unusual visual features, including an underfoot Pongratz cap classique display topped with toughened glass, and a gas fired pebble bed fire feature. Everywhere, attention to detail is evident - staff wear identical striped butchers outfits, and hand out long fan-folded menus.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

The attention to detail did not stop at the visuals, though. Project Manager Gert Jansen van Vuuren insisted on using BOSE 251 loudspeakers in the new venue. Having had experience with BOSE loudspeakers at the CTFM Steenberg outlet, he knew that they would provide the quality, full range sound so necessary in an upmarket restaurant.

The restaurant also boasts five private dining areas, each with individual music control.

DIGITAL AT HEART

At the heart of the sound system, a RANE digital signal processor provides automatic level control, gently compensating for the irregularities in volume between tracks on the satellite music feed. The DSP will also provide an ethernet interface between the sound system and the PC network, allowing volume in various areas of the restaurant to be adjusted from the POS touchscreens.

Krugmann's Grill, part of the CTFM family, has taken Cape Town by storm. While expansion plans are still under wraps, one thing is sure: whenever you dine at a Krugmann's, you will enjoy the quality sound of BOSE loudspeakers.
